The Mildura Muscle Car Club Inc proudly supports the following groups that provide help and support across our community.

SUNASSIST:

Sunassist is a not-for-profit community organisation which commenced providing services to the elderly, disabled and young people in the Mildura community since 1981. As Sunassist has grown, the organisation has broadened its scope to ‘’assist people to live as independently as possible in the community by providing a range of support services’’. Sunassist has over 300 fantastic and dedicated volunteers who provide the range of support services to the elderly, disabled and young people in the community. As the need for Sunassist services continues to increase with the ageing population and the growing needs of the community, the volunteer hours Sunassist volunteers provide to the community are increasing significantly each year.

FLO CONNECT:

engage, educate, aspire, where anything is possible.

Flo Connect aims to re-engage young people aged 12-18 years who have been out of school for 3 months or longer, providing an individualised learning program based on their strengths and interests so as to reconnect them onto a learning pathway back into school, TAFE or a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

Some young people find it difficult to stay at school for one or more reasons. Some leave for a while because life and/or school has become too difficult to manage.

FLO Connect offers the opportunity for young people to explore the options available to them, building on individual strengths and interests to find a pathway to return to education, access training or gain employment.

FLO Connect is for young people who have left school early and who want to recommence their education and would benefit from an individualised skills program.

Building respectful and trusting relationships with our young people at FLO Connect is the foundation of our educational model. Young people are supported daily with every aspect of their learning - academic, social, emotional, psychological, and physical health.

Mentors and Case Managers are the first port of call for support, but additional support is always available to each and every young person from the FLO Connect Co-Ordinator, other Mildura Rural City Council staff, educational staff, and daily visits from mental health relational therapist staff from Tristar.

It is with this support that young people can receive the appropriate assistance in a timely manner to ensure they feel they can get back on track with their learning as quickly as possible.
